On The Way Home From The ER

On the way home from the Emergency Room, we were starving.

Let me back up — after he returned home from his internship, he started playing a good solid round of kickball with his brothers, and he ran his chin into the neighbor’s flagstone fire pit. After a tetanus shot, and a script for oral antibiotics, we were on our way home, when we saw this turtle crossing the road, right in front of our car.
Gorgeous, isn’t he? He’s a little shy, too.

We stopped and rescued him.

And introduced him around, to his bewildered brother, who was thinking, “I’ve been tracking turtles all day on this lake, and you find one on the road, on your way home from the ER?!”
before letting him go into the lake, and before we had our well-deserved dinner.
