God Hovers: Finding a Path in The Darkness: Genesis 1:1-18

A Personal Genesis

In the Beginning

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
But all I could see was the chaos.
The landscape of my mind was empty, void, confused.
Darkness covered the world, like deep waters swirling without purpose.

Yet, God’s Spirit

Yet even there, God was present.
His Spirit was intimately near—yet, invisible. My world may have been without form, with darkness on the face of the deep.

It was enough to sit in the darkness. To know that his Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

And then without warning,

A sliver of light pierced the darkness, and like the dawn breaking a dark night — clarity began to edge its way through.
He separated the light from the darkness—and He named them. He separated the dark from the light — showing me the difference between the two. A choice.

Light was called good. Darkness no longer ruled.
He created a new day. A new beginning.

Dry Land

Then He commanded the waters to gather, and from the chaos, dry land appeared. Where there was once no clear path, now had solid ground. This solid ground formed by His word—became the foundation on which I could now walk through.

Seeds of Prayers

And as I walked, the barren ground began to respond.
The land brought forth vegetation—plants yielding seed, each according to its kind.
Every seed, a thought — a whispered prayer. Every prayer, a creative act; divine seeds sown through the Spirit, destined to grow after their kind.

If you plant love, love will bloom. If you plant fear, fear will flourish.
The law remains: each seed bears fruit of its own kind.

Signs in the Sky

And God, continues to place lights in the sky—the great light to rule the day, the lesser to guard the night. A reminder that his silent presence is always close, and that His order reigns. Light and darkness, day and night—all under His design.

The eternal pattern of how He brings life out of chaos.
His Spirit hovers over your deep, dark waters…
He separates, He gathers, He forms, and He creates a way.
That is the nature of divine creation—He brings the order out of darkness.
