Have Your Read Anything by Liane Moriarty Lately?

Have you been reading Liane Moriarty? If so, you know what it means to have her pleasantly deceive you into taking a path down into something quirksome, only to find yourself down in a tunnel trying to work out some of the darker issues of life. I just finished The Last Anniversary: A Novel, which is not the last anniversary you think this is, just as The Husband’s Secret is a secret, but not the secret you assume it is. All I can reveal is that I’m so happy, for Jake’s sake, that Grace worked her way through this dark tunnel – and perhaps, Moriarty, through her work can bring awareness and shed some light into this very serious issue, and make a real-life breakthrough for someone else.  The Last Anniversary seems like a story right out of the page of a picture book, starting with the mystery of Alice and Jack — who mysteriously vanish into thin air, from their home on Scribbly Gum Island. Their baby is left cooing in her crib.  Moriarty works from the inside out… going deep into the thoughts of her characters, creating dialogue with thoughts rather than words. Reading her books is more intimate than adventurous, more shocking than idyllic…But a delicious adventure at that…
